How this website handles information.

Overview

New Leaf Mental Health LLC (“New Leaf Mental Health,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website as a marketing and informational resource. This Privacy Policy describes practices regarding information collected through this website only. It does not cover clinical privacy practices or handling of protected health information.

Information we collect

This website has no forms, user accounts, or input fields of any kind, so it collects nothing you type or submit and no protected health information. Appointment scheduling and clinical services are handled through Headway.

It does collect a limited amount of technical information automatically, as almost every website does: your IP address, your browser and device type, the pages you view here, and the links you follow away from the site. What happens to that information is described below.

Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used: which pages are viewed, how visitors arrived, and general device and browser information. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies on your browser (_ga and _ga_02W8BS21WG, which expire after two years) so that repeat visits are counted once rather than as new people each time. It does not identify you.

Google receives your IP address, uses it to estimate the general area you are in, and then discards it. Google does not make your IP address available to the practice. Analytics data for this website is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.

Pages about a specific condition get additional treatment. Before anything is sent to Google, both the web address and the page title of those pages are replaced with a generic placeholder, so what reaches Google records that a condition page was viewed without recording which one. Google Analytics is not a HIPAA business associate of the practice, and nothing from your clinical record is ever sent to it.

Third-party services

This website links to third-party services. Their privacy practices are their own; consult their policies before providing any personal information.

Headway

New Leaf partners with Headway to handle scheduling, insurance verification, billing, and clinical communications. Headway publishes its own HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices describing how it uses and discloses health information.

Psychology Today

A third-party provider directory. Psychology Today is not a HIPAA-covered entity and is not a Business Associate of New Leaf Mental Health. Do not share personal health information through Psychology Today.

Google Analytics

Used to measure how this website is used, as described above. Google Analytics is not a HIPAA-covered entity and does not receive protected health information from this website.

Cloudflare

This website is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare. As the host, Cloudflare processes every request to the site, including your IP address, the page requested, and your browser type, in order to serve the page and protect it from attack. Cloudflare acts as a service provider to the practice and does not use this information for its own advertising.

Google Ads

The practice may run search advertising through Google Ads. Google Analytics is linked to that account so the practice can see which ads lead to visits. Ads personalization is turned off on that link, and no advertising audiences are built from the condition pages on this site. We do not sell your information.

Protected health information (PHI)

This website is a marketing and informational resource only. No PHI is collected, stored, or transmitted through this website.

If we change how this website handles information, we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top of it.
